Configuring Outlook and Outlook express for your Email account as part of your hosting service with www.Webbedsite.com .

First you should create a new email account and password.  You can go to the Cpanel at

Yourdomain.com/cpanel and log in with the ID password you were given.

Choose “Mail Menu” and then “Add and remove accounts” then “Add account”

Enter the email and password you want and the quota this uses your disk space allocation so don’t make it too big. (The default is 10meg which should be plenty).  You should not use the account generated with your account as an email address.

There are several versions of Outlook / outlook express this example is from office 2000 yours should be similar but not identical.

In Outlook select “Tools” and “Accounts” select the “Mail Tab” and

Add account… Mail

“Your Name” can be any name you want

name@yourDomainName.com is the email address you created

Use Pop3 (default)

Mail.yourDomainName.com for incoming and for outgoing get the settings from your ISP (recommended) Alternatively you cane use the same settings as incoming mail if you ISP allows it. – replace YourDomainName.com with your real domain name e.g. mail.webbedsite.com for this site.

For the outgoing mail settings use the settings for your email with your local ISP

Account name = your new email address you set up in the Cpanel

Password is the password you set up in the Cpanel for this email.

Log on using secure Password Authentication (SPN) should not be checked

The connection screen is specific to your PC make sure it is set to the way you connect to the Internet.

 

Once you have created the account you should select the account (from the window that appears from tools/accounts) and click on Properties.

You should see a screed similar to below

Click on servers Tag you should see:

After you check "my server requires authentication" and click on "Settings" you should see:

these settings are the account name (usually your ISP email address) and password for this address.

Both of these are provided from you ISP

click on advanced tab you should page similar to below

Make sure the Delivery (leave a copy on server) is NOT checked.

Otherwise you will leave a copy of all emails on the server that you will need to cleanup from webmail to stop you server mailbox from filling up.

 

If you have more than one email account

You should set the default address to the one you wish to send from.
